Steve has been training all summer to ride the Point to Point mtn bike race in Park City. It is an 78 mile race that you can do solo or as a duo. Steve did the duo option and raced the last 42 miles of the course. The race was last Saturday and he finished! I can't imagine being on a bike seat for over 5 hours, but he did it without any crashed or bike malfunctions. Duff did the race as a solo rider and finished the whole thing in just a little over 8 hours....despite his bike losing rear brakes (scary).
The kids and I chased Steve around Deer Valley and Park City Mtn Resort before finally catching him at the finish line at The Canyons. He was so exhausted and wasn't sure if he would do the race again. But the very next day, the story had changed. He said he is doing the whole thing next year :-)

Stevie Kate - with no training wheels
A few weeks ago,on a Sunday afternoon, Stevie Kate asked Steve to help her move her bike to the front yard because she wanted to ride it. I don't think he thought much about it...but sure enough, she had taught herself how to ride her bike without training wheels. We give all of the credit to Stevie and her pink run bike that taught her balance. She didn't even want Steve to push her or help her in any way. Stevie has always been very independent...no exceptions here.
